All suspected stroke or cases of on-going neurological disturbance should be referred acutely as an emergency to the local stroke service through telephone call to the on-call clinician.

Primarily an inpatient service though do offer an outpatient intensive therapy service.
Specialise in the treatment of patients with physical and cognitive limitations following a recent neurological event or a long term neurological condition.

Exclusion criteria:
- Have an old neurological condition and the primary rehabilitation need is not neurological in nature.
- Require longer term slow stream rehabilitation.
- Require high levels of visibility or be supervised on a one to one basis for safety.
Solent run a community service for patients registered with a New Forest, Test Valley and Southern Parishes GP ONLY. The service is available for 16 – 65 year olds with the exception of patients diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. Tel: 0300 123 5007

The Community Neurological Service is a specialist multi professional service for adults aged 18 years and over, registered with a Portsmouth City GP, with a one of the following neurological conditions:
Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, Traumatic Brain Injury.

Please note that most NHS sleep clinics are primarily geared towards sleep disordered breathing, obstructive and central sleep apnoea. There are specific clinics on eRS for these conditions.
UHS guidance is that parasomnias and suspicion of narcolepsy or nocturnal epilepsy should be referred to adult neurology colleagues.
Insomnia is a common but underfunded condition nationally, and whilst on a case by case basis these patients may be seen to ensure the basics are done i.e. sleep hygiene, advice for psychological input, etc., or if suspicion of coexistent OSA, if more complex, patients with insomnia should be referred to specialist clinics, nearest being Oxford (Dr Zaiwalla) or a London hospital (please consult their services for referral criteria). Suspicion of sexsomnia should also be referred to London or Oxford.
The Face Place is a regional facial rehabilitation clinic, treating people with facial problems such as facial palsy.

Referrals are made by email. There is a referral form to be completed which can be obtained by emailing or calling the service and they will forward the referral form.
