Community Older People’s Mental Health (OPMH) teams provide support for assessment, diagnosis, and ongoing care for people with mental health conditions such as dementia, depression, severe anxiety or psychosis.
Referrals to community mental health teams should be made through eRS.

Dementia advice service aims to support people with dementia and their carers to remain living well at home. Dementia Advice services can be accessed through referral by GP, community mental health teams and other healthcare professionals. In Hampshire this is provided through Andover Mind contact them on 01264332297 and press for option 3 for Carer Support and the Dementia Adviser Service.
iTalk is still available to older people with mental health problems and provide a talking therapy service. The main therapy offered is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy which is a talking therapy which looks at thoughts, feelings and behaviours and teaches coping strategies and other ways to manage how you are currently feeling.
Drug and alcohol support services across Hampshire are provided through Inclusion. Self referral is available by telephone or online through their website above. Locations include: Winchester, Andover, Eastleigh and New Forest.
Mind Wellbeing Centres provide local support for people with mental illness. Local MIND services in Hampshire are provided by Andover MIND and Solent MIND. Andover Mind has wellbeing centres located in Westbrook Close, Andover, Appletree Centre and Dr Peter Centre in Romsey, Vyne Road in Basingstoke and Victoria Road in Aldershot. Solent MIND currently runs six Wellbeing Centres located in Eastleigh, Fareham, Portsmouth, Winchester and two in the New Forest. Mind wellbeing centres offers group therapy, courses, workshops and counselling. Contact your local MIND service for further details.
Andover MIND have a new Hampshire-wide service providing advice, information and support to all carers aged 18 and above who provide care for an adult.
Carers Trust is a major charity for, with and about carers. They work to improve support, services and recognition for anyone living with the challenges of caring, unpaid, for a family member or friend who is ill, frail, disabled or has mental health or addiction problems. In Hampshire there is the local Princess Royal Trust for Carers.
Social Care Mental Health Teams work together with the Health Service’s Community Mental Health Teams and deal with people’s social care needs alongside their health needs. They help people in the community, whether they have just become ill, have a short-term illness, or need on-going support (for example, if they have a long-term illness, or after they have been discharged from a psychiatric hospital). Connect to Support Hampshire is a website for adults in Hampshire. Its aim is to help people stay independent and to manage their own care. You can find local groups, activities and services within your community as well as formal care services.
