Clean Air Champions
Resource
Dear Colleague,
We are delighted to announce that we now have 50 Southampton Healthcare Professionals trained up as Clean Air Champions! These Champions, from a wide range of disciplines, are now able to support their patients to breathe cleaner air, thereby improving health.
We recognize that there are many clinicians and frontline workers across the City, who would love to have a greater understanding of the links between air quality and health, but who may not have the capacity to commit to the full training. We are therefore inviting you to join our Clean Air Healthcare Hub in which you will have access to key messages, latest research and patient resources. Dip in where you can!
You could:
- Join us at one of our bi-monthly webinars to hear presentations from a wide range of air quality experts
- Book us in for a short talk to learn key messages on air quality and health
- Receive patient resources to enable you to easily share clean air advice (digital or hard copies)
- Join our WhatsApp community – a network of like-minded colleagues to share ideas and hear about the latest research
- Be the first to receive invitations to special events around the City and new resources to support your work
- Undertake the full training to become a fully-fledged Champion – available online at your convenience (2 hours)
The quickest way to get involved and to find out more, is to sign up for our next webinar which is happening a week today – Wednesday 17th July at 12 noon – 1pm. We will be hearing from Professor Stephen Holgate, UK Air Quality Champion with his presentation “Air pollution – The greatest environmental risk to health in the UK”. It takes less than 30 seconds to reserve your place: Sign up here to receive the Zoom link or video recording for Webinar 2.
Please share with colleagues who might also be interested. We want to spread this important information across the City so that as many patients benefit as possible.
This is a DEFRA-funded project, commissioned by Southampton City Council and delivered by Global Action Plan and us here at tEC.
