We know that older adults may not be used to talking about their mental health. But as people age, they can face challenges such as loneliness, isolation, ill health or becoming a carer for a spouse, friend, or partner.
As an NHS Talking Therapies Service, we at Southampton Steps2Wellbeing deliver free talking therapy for all patients registered with GP Surgeries in the City.
We offer telephone, on-line and face-to-face appointments at various places across the city, with the intention of making it as easy as possible for older adults to access our services.
Our therapists are experienced in treating older adults and we actively encourage people over 65 years old to access our service.

Steps 2 Wellbeing
We recognise that everyone is an individual, and for this reason we have a range of services available that provide interventions for difficulties, such as: Depression (such as experiencing prolonged sadness; reduced motivation; tiredness; sleep difficulties etc). General Anxiety (such as worrying excessively about lots of things). Health Anxiety (worrying excessively about health). Panic (episodes of severe anxiety; and sometimes accompanied with a fear of going out). Specific Phobias (such as a fear of needles, blood, dogs etc.) Social Phobia (fear of social interactions). Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Trauma.
