Update regarding the removal of benign skin lesions

Previously the removal of benign skin lesions and blemishes on the body were ‘funded subject to audit’ if they met the criteria for removal and were approved through the ‘trust and verify’ process.

The policy on funding for ‘benign skin lesions’ has been updated and implemented across the ICS from 01/04/2023. It is now necessary to apply for prior approval funding for the removal of benign lesions through the IFR service.
