21.9.21 GP Clinical Adviser – NHSE
News
NHS England is seeking to recruit GP clinical advisers to work within the South East region (Kent, Surrey Sussex, Hampshire, Thames Valley and Isle of Wight).
We are actively seeking applications from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic candidates
This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of experienced GP clinical advisers. To qualify, you must be an experienced clinician of good standing. Experience of working in clinical governance or quality assessment within primary care is preferred. Experience of working at director level would also be an advantage. Our advisers are given excellent training and supported in their role by the Responsible Officer’s team.
Our adviser team is positive, enthusiastic, and committed to working effectively to support the Responsible Officer. Their work is diverse and allows clinical advisers to look at the work carried out by primary care practitioners from different perspectives and in different contexts. As part of this work, it is vital that any reported concerns are investigated thoroughly, and that poor practice is identified and addressed swiftly to preserve patient safety. It is of equal importance that clinical advisers remain objective and provide support to conscientious and competent GPs.
Applicants must be able to commit to attend investigation training run by the Practitioner Performance Advice Service and attend quarterly Clinical Adviser meetings – a minimum attendance of 3 of the 4 meetings is required per year. You will also be required to have an annual appraisal for this role and can also undertake training to sit as a Discipline Specific Practitioner on Performance Advisory Groups (PAGs) and Performers List Decision Panels (PLDPs). *
Applicants who are successfully selected for interview will be sent a brief report to complete and submit as part of the interview process.
Interviews will take place virtually by TEAMS on Thursday 14 October 2021
